Unpopular opinion: I was wrong about working from coffee shops
I spent a month in Lisbon trying to work from a different trendy cafe every day, thinking it was the 'real' nomad experience. The moment I realized it was a mistake was when I got my third $80 coworking space bill and saw I'd spent over $300 on coffee and pastries that month just to have a seat. The noise, the unreliable wifi, and the pressure to keep buying stuff made me way less productive than just paying for a proper desk. Has anyone else found that the cafe dream is actually pretty bad for getting real work done?

That $300 on coffee is a real wake up call. But what about the days you actually got good work done in a cafe. Was it a certain time of day, or a specific kind of place that made it work before it all fell apart?

Funny, I've always found the background hum in a cafe helps me focus better than a silent office. It just depends on the type of work you're doing.
