Fought against laminate flooring for years, now I get it

I was dead set on hardwood only after refinishing my parents' old oak floors in Denver, but my sister put waterproof laminate in her mudroom and after 3 winters of salt and wet boots it still looks new. Has anyone else come around on something they used to hate after seeing it hold up in a tough spot?

Did you consider going with a luxury vinyl plank instead of laminate? I switched to LVP in my own mudroom after seeing my neighbor's laminate buckle near the dishwasher leak. The waterproof core made all the difference for me. I get why you doubted laminate, the old stuff was terrible. But these newer materials are really tough and I can mop without worrying. Your sister's floor holding up through Denver winters is pretty solid proof.

Nah, why complicate it? Laminate's way cheaper and looks just as good if you don't have standing water issues. Your sister's floor in Denver is all the proof I need.
