Walked into an old hardware store in Vermont and felt like I time traveled
Stopped by Green Mountain Hardware in Rutland last weekend and the guy behind the counter knew every single customer by name, even told me my great uncle used to buy the same brand of wood glue back in the 80s. Has anyone else noticed how rare it is to have a real hardware guy who can diagnose your project without you even finishing the sentence?

Oh man, that place is a gem but it's actually Green Mountain Hardware in Middlebury not Rutland. I used to stop there when visiting my cousin. The guy there is like 80 years old and still wears the same blue apron from 1992. He once told me my grandfather bought the same brand of caulk there in the 70s. It's wild how he remembers every customer's whole history like that. You don't find that kind of memory anywhere else.
