Finally got told my hatch pattern scaling was off by a senior drafter
He pointed out my concrete hatch was set to 1:1 instead of matching the drawing scale, and it saved me from a huge redo on a commercial project last week. Has anyone else had a basic drafting habit that went unnoticed for way too long?

Hmm, is it really that big of a deal though? If the hatch looks right on screen and the contractor can read it, who cares what scale it's at? Seems like a lot of fuss over something that doesn't affect the actual build.

yeah but that's the thing, it's the same kinda thinking that makes people slap a coat of paint over a cracked wall and call it done. it's like we've gotten so used to shortcuts everywhere. you ever notice how people will use the wrong units for stuff in the kitchen and just eyeball it? like yeah the cake might still turn out ok but it's pure luck at that point. hatch scale matters because if it's off, the contractor is guess-reading your drawing instead of building it right. that's how you end up with a wall that looks fine but the door frame is crooked. it's all about building good habits so the little stuff adds up correctly.
