Switched to a mechanical pencil with a 0.3mm lead for my drafting details
I kept smudging 0.5mm lines on my Mylar sheets so I grabbed a $6 Pentel from the art store and it made my cleanups way faster. Has anyone else tried a different lead size and noticed it messes with your line weights on prints?

Wait hold up you're using a 0.3mm on Mylar and not snapping leads left and right? That's wild dude I break those things just looking at them wrong on regular paper. Broke three leads in one sketch the other day and I was only doing light contour lines. But your cleanup thing makes total sense actually. The finer point probably skims over the Mylar surface instead of digging in. Might have to give it a shot even if I am scared of the snapping.

Man I've snapped so many 0.3mm leads just by breathing near my desk, but on Mylar it's like a magic trick or something. Give it a try, just keep a spare dozen leads nearby for moral support.

Respectfully, snapping 0.3mm leads is usually about pushing too hard, not the paper type.
