Spent $400 on a new silt curtain for a job near the river bend

We were working in a real sensitive spot and I figured the cheap one would hold. It tore on day two and we got slapped with a fine from the state, cost us way more in the end. Anyone have a brand of curtain they trust for fast current?

That's rough... what was the water speed like when it tore? I've seen curtains fail at the seams first in fast water, but sometimes the anchors pull out if the bottom isn't weighted right. Knowing exactly how it broke might help narrow down what to look for next time.

Ugh that's the worst, it's like a law of the universe. I see it everywhere, like buying the cheap boots that fall apart in a month. You always end up paying twice, once for the junk and again for the thing that actually works.

Boots are just the start. My cheap toaster caught fire last week, and the replacement cost more than a decent one would have. It's a tax on being broke.
