Why does nobody talk about pre-filling butt joints before tape
I've been on jobs where guys just throw tape over dry joints and call it good. I started spending an extra 2 minutes per joint pre-filling with mud and my callback rate dropped to almost zero. Anyone else do this or am I wasting time?

Pre-filling is literally the difference between a job that looks good and one that cracks in six months. My buddy tried skipping it once and his tape job looked like a topographical map by the end of the week. Save yourself the headache and take those two extra minutes unless you enjoy drywall confessionals with your clients.
