I finally messed up a peel real bad back in 2017

Was doing a medium depth peel on a client in Miami. Left it on for 12 minutes instead of 8 like the directions said. Her skin turned bright red and blistered by the next morning. Had to comp her for 4 follow up visits and learned to always set a timer on my phone.

12 minutes is a long time but I feel like people act like a bad peel is gonna kill you when really you just look rough for a bit. @jana769 came out of it fine eventually right? Three months is annoying but its not like permanent damage or anything.

Oh man, "shedding like a snake" is way too accurate for what happens with these things... @morganmartinez your friend got off lucky if it was just patchy texture honestly. I had a similar peel disaster back in 2018 where I fell asleep with it on during a FaceTime call with my sister. Woke up two hours later and my face was literally oozing in spots. Took me three months to get my skin back to normal and now I have these weird lighter patches near my jawline that show up whenever I get a tan. Still can't believe I did that to myself over a stupid chitchat call.

Had a friend who did something similar with a chemical peel on herself at home. She left the stuff on way too long cause she got distracted watching TV. Her face peeled off in sheets for a week and a half. Looked like a snake shedding its skin but way more red and painful. She still has some weird patchy texture on her cheeks if you look close.
