Vent: I tried the 'no phone for the first hour of the day' trend for a month.
I saw people talking about it online and decided to test it against my old habit of checking email right away. For 30 days, I left my phone in the kitchen and just had coffee, made breakfast, and planned my day without it. Honestly, the first week was rough, I kept reaching for it. But after that, my mornings felt calmer and I was less rushed getting to the office. I'm sticking with it because the quiet start makes a real difference. Has anyone else tried a morning routine change that actually stuck?

Good for you man, that sounds solid. My version was dumping the morning news scroll. Used to wake up and immediately get hit with all the world's chaos before coffee. Swapped it for just making my lunch and listening to the radio instead. Day feels like it starts on my own terms now, not like I'm already behind.

I read a study that said checking the news within 30 minutes of waking up can spike stress hormones. Your radio swap sounds way smarter.

Yeah I used to think checking the news first thing was just being informed. But @ruby_wright is right, it just makes the day feel heavy right away. Swapping that out makes a huge difference.
