Vent: Paid $40 for a 'media literacy' course that just taught me to spot fake outrage
I saw a bunch of people online freaking out about a new movie 'censoring' a scene, so I bought this short video course to understand the news better. The whole thing just showed me how the outrage was based on a cut trailer and a few tweets, not the actual film. Anyone else get tired of paying to learn stuff the internet just makes up?

Oh man, my friend paid for a similar "fact-checking" guide. It basically just told her to read past the headline.

That course sounds like it actually worked then.

Yeah paul_ramirez, "actually worked" is the key part. Most of those guides are just common sense sold back to you. This one sounds like the rare one that wasn't a total scam.
