My friend who designs for H&M said my color combos were 'too safe'

She was looking at this jacket I made with navy and cream panels and just straight up told me I was playing it boring. Now I'm second-guessing every palette I've used in the last 3 years - has anyone else had a fellow designer call them out like that?

Read somewhere that H&M literally plays it safe with everything so that's rich coming from them.

Right, they're basically just a fast fashion copy machine at this point.
