Just got a burger from the drive-thru in Austin that was still frozen in the middle

Picked up a double cheeseburger last Thursday, took one bite and hit a solid ice chunk. The patty was completely raw and cold inside, like they just threw it on the grill for 10 seconds. Has anyone else had this happen recently, or did I just get the world's worst lunch rush?

Yeah, I saw a local news story last week about a few fast food places having issues with undercooked food, something about new staff being trained too fast. They said to always check the middle before you take a big bite.

Ugh, that's nasty. I read a piece online that said some chains are rushing frozen patties straight to the grill without thawing them first to keep up with speed goals. It's a huge health risk. They really need to fix their cooking times if the middle is still solid ice. I'd definitely call the store and let the manager know, that's not okay.

Actually, cooking from frozen is pretty standard in a lot of kitchens. They just have to adjust the grill time and temp to make sure it's safe.
