A client in Bend told me my glue lines were too thick on her cork floor
She pointed out the seams and said, 'It looks like you used a trowel for tile, not cork.' I checked the specs and she was right... I was using a 1/4 inch notched trowel. Switched to a 1/8 inch v-notch for the next room and the difference was night and day. The adhesive spread thin and even, no squeeze-out at all. Anyone else have a client catch a detail like that?

Honestly sounds a bit over the top. Like aaron880 said, maybe check the adhesive sheet, but most clients would never even notice that.

Wait, isn't a 1/8 inch v-notch still a bit big for cork tile? I've always used a 1/16 inch trowel for the pre-glued cork squares. Even a v-notch can leave ridges that show through thin cork. For sheet cork or thicker tiles maybe it's fine, but for the standard stuff that extra adhesive can cause telegraphing. Might be worth a double-check on the adhesive brand's sheet too, they sometimes call for a super thin spread.

Doubt it matters much in the real world. Most of that adhesive squishes out flat anyway. People overthink the trowel size.
