Hot take: I used to glue down every plank but started floating a click system on a big job last month.
It was a 1500 square foot condo with a concrete subfloor. The floating floor went in about 30% faster because we skipped the glue and trowel time. The real win was the next day, the owner called to move a heavy bookcase and we just popped those few planks out and back in without any mess. Has anyone else switched to floating for big areas and run into problems with it?

Yeah, @julia_carter61 is right about the speed, but man, the hollow sound bugs me sometimes.

Floating is the only way I install now. Did a 2000 sq ft office and the crew loved how fast it went down.

That "hollow sound" Olivia mentioned is the floor telling you it's fake. Speed is nice, but it sounds like you're walking on a drum set.
