Remember when we used to snap chalk lines every single time?

I started out in the early 2000s and we'd chalk line EVERYTHING, even small closets. Now with laser levels getting cheap, I only grab the chalk for long hallway runs or when the battery dies mid-job. Anyone else keep a chalk box in your bag just for backup?

Snap chalk lines EVERY SINGLE TIME." Yeah, that was me too. I remember doing closets with a chalk line like my life depended on it. Now my laser sits on the floor and does the same job in half the time. I still keep a chalk box in my pouch though. It's like a security blanket for when the laser starts acting up in bright sunlight. Won't give it up completely.

I get where you're coming from, but I don't see it that way at all. I used to snap lines religiously too, but once I got a good green laser that can handle bright rooms, I pretty much store the chalk box now. The speed and accuracy just beat snapping lines for me, even outside.

Read somewhere that green lasers punch through sunlight way better than the old red ones.
