I raised my rates by 50% last month and actually got more work

A client in Denver balked at first, but then three others signed on right after, saying the higher price made me look more serious. Has anyone else had a client act weird about a rate hike, only to have it work out?

It's funny how a higher price can make people trust you more, even if they complain at first.

That's a solid point about trust. Makes me wonder if the real trick is the price forces you to raise your own game. You start charging more, so you have to deliver way more value to feel okay about it. The customer senses that extra effort, and that's what builds the trust, not just the number.

Exactly, it forces a mindset shift. You stop thinking like a cheap option and start acting like a premium service, which clients can totally feel. That new confidence is what they're really buying.
