Vent: The old hardware store in Springfield closed and took a lot of my old tricks with it
I was there just last month to grab some powdered pumice and they told me they stopped carrying it years ago... said nobody uses it anymore. I learned how to rub out a finish with that stuff from a guy named Frank back in '98. Now I'm stuck trying to get that same glassy feel with modern abrasives and it's just not the same. Anyone else have a go-to old school supply that's gotten hard to find?

Wait, they told you they stopped carrying it years ago but you were just there last month? How does that even work, did you walk into a time warp? That's the kind of thing that makes you wonder what else they just decided not to tell people about. It's like these places forget that the old ways still work perfectly fine.

Honestly, it's probably just a new kid working the register who doesn't know the inventory. They get told to say something's been gone for years to end the conversation quickly. The real issue is that no one trains staff on store history anymore, so the left hand never knows what the right hand did last month. It cuts that feeling of trust when you can't get a straight answer. Makes the whole place feel temporary, even if it's been there forever.

Eh, it's just a store clerk, not a secret agent.
