My new smartwatch battery died in 8 hours flat...
I got a review unit for the new 'Aura Glide' fitness tracker last month. The first day I wore it, I charged it fully at 7 AM before my shift. By 3 PM, it was completely dead, which was a real letdown for a device that claims 5-day battery life. The company's support just said to 'reset it and try again', but it happened three days in a row. Has anyone else had a gadget that failed its main selling point so spectacularly?

Ever think those battery life claims were just marketing? I used to believe them until my last watch barely made it through a single afternoon. Now I just assume they're all lying.

Used to give them the benefit of the doubt. Figured maybe I was using my phone wrong. But my last tablet? Box said twelve hours. Couldn't even finish a long movie. That was the final straw for me. Now I just cut the number in half right away.

I used to think maybe I was just a heavy user, but after seeing what happened to Felix Henderson's tablet, it really clicked for me. They must test these things with the screen off in a dark room doing nothing. My old phone claimed all day battery, but it would be dead by lunch if I actually used it. It's gotten to the point where I just ignore the box and look for real user reviews instead.

Totally. They always test them in some perfect lab setting that has nothing to do with real life.
