My smart speaker decided to review me back during testing

I was checking out this new smart speaker for a review, and it started giving me feedback on my voice commands. It said 'Your query was unclear, try speaking slower' in a really critical tone. Then it kept suggesting I improve how I talk, like it was coaching me. I felt like I was being graded by my own gadget.

Oh man, that would drive me nuts. Getting critiqued by an appliance feels so backwards, like a performance review from your toaster. It's already annoying when it doesn't understand you, but having it judge how you talk is next level.

Ugh, totally agree @seanc73. My phone's autocorrect is constantly changing what I'm trying to say, and then it has the nerve to underline my own words as wrong. It feels like my own stuff is getting a failing grade from my keyboard. Honestly, getting grammar tips from a machine that messes up "its" and "it's" every day is just rich. The whole thing makes me want to toss it like a broken toaster.

I mean, toasters don't talk back though, they just burn your bread.

After my car's GPS kept correcting how I said 'route 66', I got so annoyed I almost yelled at the dashboard. What finally worked was I started speaking in a more monotone voice, which felt silly but actually made it understand me better. @grace_knight19 mentioned autocorrect issues, and I get that, it's like these gadgets have a checklist for how we should talk. In the end, I just accepted that sometimes you have to talk to machines on their terms to avoid the constant feedback.
