Showerthought: Our park cleanup day turned into an unexpected eye health moment
Last Saturday, my neighborhood had a park cleanup, and I tossed on my optician coat without thinking. A bunch of folks saw it and started asking me about their eye problems right there in the grass. One guy was having trouble with his computer glasses giving him headaches, so I talked about lens coatings and blue light filters. Another neighbor mentioned her dad's new bifocals feeling weird, and I explained the adjustment period. It was just casual chat, but seeing their faces light up when things clicked made my whole week. I didn't expect to work outside the office, but it felt good to help. Sometimes the best connections happen when you're just being part of the community. Maybe I'll keep my coat handy for more local events like this.
