How a sore spot behind the ear made me rethink fittings
A patient kept coming back with the same complaint. Their glasses hurt behind the ear. I thought it was just normal adjustment. Finally, I took the time to adjust the temple bend. The discomfort vanished immediately. Now I start every fitting by asking about pressure. It saves time and keeps clients happy.

Actually,@the_stella's torque point is so true for physical pressure too. That tiny bend makes ALL the difference for comfort.

I've probably over-torqued a thousand electrical fittings in my life. It's funny how the simplest fix is often the one we overlook because it seems too basic. Good reminder to check the obvious stuff first.

Over-torquing is less about missing the simple fix and more about applying too much force thinking it's better. Margaret879 might be right that it doesn't always break things right away, but it sure leads to stripped threads or a cracked housing down the line. That hidden damage is what gets you. It's a bad habit that feels right in the moment but usually causes more problems than it solves.
