The quiet command trick that had me rethinking old pet habits
My friend's dog kept barking at the mail carrier. I showed her how to use a treat to teach the quiet cue, and it worked fast. It had me wondering, why did we used to just yell instead of trying this easy fix?

Your friend was swatting his cat? That's way too harsh for furniture protection.

My dog, Bailey, used to jump on every guest who walked through the door. I read about using treats to reward calm behavior, so I started asking visitors to ignore her until she sat down. After just a few days, she figured it out (honestly, it was faster than I expected). Now she waits patiently for attention, and I never have to raise my voice. It makes me wonder why we default to frustration when a simple fix is right there.

Why is our first thought always to raise our voice? My buddy kept complaining his cat scratched the couch, but he was just swatting it away. Told him to try a scratching post with catnip, and now the couch is safe and the cat is happy.
