Question about those cheap carbon paste tubes that always split open

That split tube problem is way more common than it should be. The real issue isn't the seal, it's the cheap plastic they use that gets brittle. I've seen it happen with a few different brands straight off the shelf. Your best bet is to transfer the paste into a small, sturdy plastic jar as soon as you buy it. Saves the mess and you won't waste the product.

TIL the first computer programmer was a woman in the 1840s

Yeah it's a cool fact, but honestly it doesn't change the day to day. The real trick is just making sure everyone feels welcome to try it out now.

I just found my old bullet journal from two years ago and cringed so hard

So you hit that point where the system itself becomes the job. How do you even start to fix it once you're already deep in, like @nelson.wren was?

Filming a festival in Austin made me rethink my whole gear setup

Totally get where Jake is coming from, used to pack way too much myself. Then I got stuck on a site where my smaller drill just wouldn't cut it, wasted half a day. Now I'd rather have the right power on hand even if I don't use it every time. What do you do when your usual gear isn't enough?

Serious question, has anyone else seen the shift in composite repair training?

Tell me about it. I tried to help my buddy fix a carbon fiber bike frame last year and it was a whole different world from steel. Like @stella121 said, it's everywhere now. My uncle's a carpenter and even he's taking classes on gluing up these new fancy laminates. Feels like you need a chemistry degree just to pick up a tool these days.
