inMy contracting job shows why pushing everyone to telecommute misses the mark on climate action
Can't believe people forget green jobs need actual workers on site lol.

inFinally tried value-based pricing. Client agreed. Feeling proud.
My friend tried that exact thing last year. He built a website for a local shop and they agreed his fee would be tied to a twenty percent sales increase. He got them the increase, but then the owner started arguing. She said the value was lower because some sales came from returning customers, not the new site. It turned into a weeks long fight over spreadsheets and numbers they never thought to define. He got paid way less than they first talked about and it wrecked the relationship.

inGot into a spat with a buddy over torque specs at a BBQ last weekend
Specs for pressure parts, feel for the rest. Head bolts and anything sealing or under load need a torque wrench. Brackets and covers are usually fine by hand. Strip one bolt and you'll never skip specs again.

inMy fix for shaky footage without a gimbal
Last week in a film workshop, over a third of newcomers had gimbals but couldn't frame a simple scene. I guess @stellamoore is onto something, because idk, practice with basics builds intuition that gadgets can't replace. Maybe it's just me but that cycle means your work stays technically clean but creatively empty.

inSkipping sleep got my account breached. Don't be like me.
Yeah, Elliot has a point but I see it like @nina422 said, your guard just drops. It’s not about being clueless, it’s that tiredness makes you skip the small, careful steps. I’ve seen it happen with simple stuff like signing forms without reading them first.
