Remembering when the noodle shop in Hong Kong was just a hole in the wall

Remember that little diner off Main Street? I went back last year and the cracked vinyl booths were gone, replaced by shiny new seats. They changed the sauce recipe on my favorite sandwich, too. It just misses that old warmth it used to have. Sometimes it feels like you lost a place that felt like home.

Back when my bullet journal was full of codes for different departments

My backpack smelled like old markers and panic by October, honestly. The phone calendar just doesn't hit the same (or smell as weird).

Missing the old trail camaraderie

My buddy Jake said the Colorado summit felt like a silent photo shoot last weekend.

Showerthought: Painting my office during a big project tanked my output

Painting in the middle of a project is like adding a side quest when the boss fight is already happening. I mean, those fumes aren't just smelly, they're basically productivity kryptonite. Idk, maybe it's just me, but I've never moved so much stuff only to realize I can't think straight. You traded work time for wall time, and now your output matches the drying paint. Next time, maybe just stare at the old color and pretend it's new. Freelance life means always picking the worst possible moment to 'get things done' at home.

Got unstuck on a branding project after flipping through a vintage magazine...

Really? I get it for some things, but most old stuff I find is totally outdated. Like old guide books or tech manuals that are just wrong now. I still check new sources first.
