He said he's been using the same basic Kirby Morgan helmet for 15 years, just keeping up with the seals and parts. I just dropped $8k on a new comms system thinking it was a must. He said 'A sharp mind and good hands beat fancy gear every time.' That hit different because I've seen guys with all the new stuff mess up simple welds.
