inMy new AI voice assistant went totally silent during a big presentation
Austin tech meetups always have the worst wifi for that stuff.

inMy friend in Portland told me to keep my garage door open while working on a big piece
Yeah that box fan trick is a lifesaver. I had a whole batch of plates get ruined when my studio door swung open during a storm. The wind just sliced right through them while they were leather hard. Now I do the exact same thing, fan in the window blowing out, and crack another window across the room. It moves the air so much better and you don't get those random gusts.

inJust realized my mortar mix was way too wet on a chimney rebuild in Denver
That "chip out all the fresh mortar" part is the worst. In dry air, I actually watch how fast the water soaks into my mixing board first thing in the morning. If it disappears in seconds, I know I'll need to mix a bit tighter than usual from the get go.

inSaw a new vinyl plank pattern at a hotel in Nashville that threw me off
Wait, nine inches wide? That's crazy... I've only seen the normal skinny stuff. A whole lobby floor with planks that big must have looked wild up close. The seams being invisible is the real shocker though, even by the doors. Makes you wonder what brand it even was.

inTIL a cheap post hole digger from Harbor Freight cost me a full day on a job in Springfield.
Harbor Freight is fine for stuff you use once a year. For daily work, it's a total gamble. That clay soil will destroy cheap tools every time. I've had a Jackson digger for three seasons now and it's a tank. The extra cost up front saves you from exactly this kind of day. Never had a handle even feel loose.
