Unpopular opinion: Reading dash light codes is a skill every mechanic should have

I just picked this up from a guy at the junkyard! It's way faster than hooking up a scanner for simple checks.

I mean, during a hangar tour for a local school, a kid looked me dead in the eye and asked if we use glue to hold the wings on. Idk, maybe it's just me but that was the funniest thing all week.

I live near a big park where people camp often. Last month, I helped with a cleanup and found brand new gear left behind... like those fancy stoves. It's crazy how much money gets spent on stuff that never sees the woods. My old stove cost me twenty bucks and I've used it for years. People get sucked into ads and reviews for the latest thing, but real camping doesn't need all that. If you're buying gear, think about if you'll actually pack it up and go. Otherwise, you're just collecting expensive dust magnets.
