PSA: A local gallery owner mentioned my pieces were 'too symmetrical'

I was at the First Friday art walk in Asheville, and a gallery owner I respect said my recent blown vessels were technically perfect but lacked a 'breath of life' because they were too even. It made me wonder if I'm over-relying on my jacks and not letting the glass move more freely. How do you all balance technical control with organic form in your work?

Choosing between the Oak Island money pit and the Somerton Man for my final paper

Had to pick one unsolved case for a 10 page history paper last semester. It was between the Oak Island treasure hunt and the Somerton Man mystery. I went with the Somerton Man, mostly because the timeline is tighter, from 1948 to now. Spent about three weeks down a rabbit hole of code pages and missing labels. The weird part was how many solid leads just stop cold. Anyone else get stuck on a case where the clues seem to point everywhere and nowhere at once?

Oh man, that reminds me of my cousin. He was using some sketchy stream for the finale of his favorite show. The video froze right on the big villain reveal. He got so frustrated he punched his couch cushion. But his hand slipped and he hit the wooden armrest instead. Broke his pinky finger. Had to wear a cast for weeks. Legit the most expensive free episode of TV ever.
