I was sure that AI art tool was just stealing from artists, but after using it for a client's mood board last month, I saw it actually credited the style influences in its own weird way.

Honestly, it still feels a bit wrong, but seeing it list artists like Beeple and Zdzisław Beksiński in the output notes made me realize the tech is trying, at least a little, so has anyone else had an experience that made them less angry about one specific part of this mess?

Credit a few artists in some notes and call it a day. That doesn't fix the main problem of using their work without real permission. It's just a small thing to make people feel less bad about it.

So it credits a couple names, big deal. Does that actually help the artists it's copying from get paid?

Credit in the notes is like a thief leaving a thank you card at the scene of the crime. It's a nice gesture, but I'm pretty sure the artist would still prefer to have their stuff not stolen in the first place. It feels like the tech is trying to buy good will for cheap. Sure, it namedrops Beksiński, but that doesn't put a single dollar in his estate's pocket. The whole thing just makes me roll my eyes because it solves nothing. It's just putting a tiny bandage on a huge, messy problem.
