I posted a weird graph about engagement drop-off and it blew up

So last week I was messing around with the analytics on my small tech page. I made a simple chart showing how a post's comments basically die after the first 90 minutes unless it gets picked up by the algorithm. I just threw it up with a caption like 'look at this cliff.' I figured maybe ten people would see it. Next thing I know, my notifications are going crazy. It got pushed hard by the platform, got over 80k views. I think the algorithm liked that it was 'meta' - a post about how posts work. It felt like the system recognized its own pattern and boosted it. Has anyone else had a super niche observation about platform mechanics suddenly get way more attention than expected?

Yeah, that tracks. I posted a chart once about how my most boring, basic questions get the most replies while my actually thoughtful stuff dies. It got way more engagement than the thoughtful stuff did. The algorithm basically patted me on the head for figuring out its stupid game.

Ever notice how this makes real conversations feel shallow now too?

Honestly that happens everywhere now, not just online. The simplest take on a complex thing always wins, even if it's kinda wrong. It's like we're all just training each other to be basic for the clicks lol.
