I used to think those cheap multimeters from Harbor Freight were junk for appliance work

But I've been using their $7 model for about a year now on basic voltage and continuity checks, and it hasn't failed me yet. It's not for everything, but for a quick check on a dryer outlet or a fridge door switch, it's fine. Anyone else have a go-to cheap tool that's surprised them?

Got a similar story with their free tape measure. Grabbed one on a whim and it's lived in my tool belt for two years now. The blade is a bit flimsy but it hasn't snapped yet.

Two years with a flimsy blade? That's wild, mark_green. Mine would have given up after a few rough months. Guess you just got a lucky one.
