TIL a trick for fixing a noisy dryer drum in under 15 minutes
Had a Samsung dryer from 2018 that sounded like a jet engine every cycle. Tried replacing the idler pulley first but that didn't do it. Turns out the rear drum glides were just worn down after 5 years of heavy use, swapped them for $12 parts from a shop in Austin and it runs quieter than new now. Anyone else run into this with the older Samsung models?

The glides are always the first thing to check.

Wait, you're saying the glides? The actual glides themselves? That's wild because I always thought those things were basically indestructible. Mine have been through hell and they still slide smooth as butter. Did yours actually wear down or crack or something? Because I've only ever heard of the rails or the switches going bad first.

Yeah @mark_green is right honestly. I ignored the glides on my last build for months thinking they were fine, then one day the whole drawer just stopped moving right. Turns out they were warped just enough to catch on the rails. Replaced them for like $12 and everything slid perfect again.
