Why does nobody talk about the weird Samsung ice maker drain plug?
I just spent four hours on a call for a fridge not making ice, and it was all because of a tiny rubber plug in the ice maker drain. The manual didn't mention it, and it was completely clogged with slime. I had to take the whole ice maker apart before I even saw it. Has anyone else run into this specific part causing a backup?

Yeah, that plug is a real design choice. Fiona's vent story makes me wonder if they hide these things on purpose to sell more service calls. Just feels cheap.

Totally planned obsolescence. They make things impossible to fix so you just buy new. So frustrating.

Oh man, that sounds like a nightmare. My last fridge had a similar hidden issue, but it was a clogged air vent behind the vegetable drawers. Took me forever to find it.

Had the same thing with my old Whirlpool. Ended up being a frozen drain line in the back panel. Thawed it with a hair dryer and poured some hot water down the tube. Fixed the pooling water for a few months at least.
