I finally fixed a network outage by unplugging the microwave
Last Tuesday at the office, the Wi-Fi kept dropping every 45 minutes like clockwork. Turned out the break room microwave was sitting right next to the router and messing with the signal after lunch reheats. Has anyone else had a random appliance mess with their connection?

Wait, a MICROWAVE? Like the thing that heats up your leftover pizza? Dude, I actually had to read that twice because my brain broke for a second. I mean, my home router sits on my desk next to a lamp and a phone charger, never once thought a microwave could mess with that. But it kinda makes sense now that I think about it - all that radio frequency stuff bouncing around in there. Still, that's wild that something that's been sitting in break rooms forever can just nuke your whole network. I'm honestly rethinking where I put my toaster now.

Right? Next thing you know my toaster is gonna be jamming my Bluetooth signal while it's making my bread golden brown. Guess we all need to start mapping out breakfast appliance interference zones.

That 2.4 GHz band that microwaves run on is the same one older routers use, right? So a leaky microwave door could basically just blast that whole frequency range into noise for anything nearby?
