My apartment building's meal prep Sundays are catching on
I live in a big apartment complex, and on Sundays, the hallways smell like everyone's cooking for the week. It's mostly students and young professionals trying to save money and eat healthy. I started joining in last month, and it's made my mornings so much easier. Kind of funny how we all sync up without even planning it.
I mean, that would drive me nuts after a while. My last place had a neighbor who always burned their weekly chicken, and the whole floor reeked of smoke every Sunday. Idk, maybe it's just me but having all those different food smells mixing in a closed hallway sounds pretty gross. It's nice that it helps your routine, but the lack of planning means you're stuck with whatever everyone else is making, good or bad.
Sounds like a cool way to build community, but mixed food smells can be too much after a while. I heard on a podcast that cooking smells sticking around is a big issue in packed buildings, just like @terrywhite said about the burnt chicken. But hey, isn't it better than stressing over meals every morning?
