PSA: That 5-year warranty on my fridge was a joke - unit died at 4 years 11 months
Our kitchenaid fridge stopped cooling last Tuesday, just 30 days shy of the warranty expiring. Called them up and they said the compressor failure wasn't covered because of some fine print about "normal wear" on the cooling system. Tried to escalate but got nowhere. Ended up paying $450 for a repair guy to come out and tell me it's cheaper to buy new. Anyone else get burned by a warranty that looked good on paper?

Is there any warranty that actually covers what you think it does?

lol "normal wear" on a cooling system. That's a new one. It's like buying a car with a warranty that doesn't cover the engine. Classic bait and switch. My buddy had the same deal with a Samsung fridge, barely lasted 3 years and they claimed it was "improper installation" because they found a tiny dent on the back panel. These companies will find any excuse to not pay out, it's ridiculous.
