Question about that weird smell at the Denver Airport train station

Walked through the Denver Airport train station last Tuesday. Got hit with this strange smell. Like burnt plastic mixed with old socks. Does anyone else notice that or am I crazy? What is that smell anyway?

Man I hit that same spot last month and thought someone left a gym bag full of burnt electronics in the corner. First time it caught me off guard, second time I just laughed. In my experience that smell has been around for like five years now, maybe longer. I swear half the people working there just shrug when you ask about it. My theory is there's some old mechanical room or electrical panel hidden behind one of those concrete walls that's been slowly melting since the 90s. Either that or the Denver airport is actually a secret government lab and that's the smell of whatever they're cooking up down there, take your pick.

That smell's been there since at least 2018, I swear it's just part of the building now.
