Honestly, I had to pick between a full frame machine or a portable spot welder for my shop. Went with the portable one.

Totally agree with roberth66 about good gear being cheaper than a rescue. Saw a guy at the scrap yard trying to fix a trailer gate with jumper cables and it was a mess. Your portable welder means you can tack a broken bracket right now, not next Tuesday. That kind of tool turns a big problem into a ten minute job.

Bet that welder earned its keep twice over. Sounds like the kind of job where you either fix it yourself or wait a week for parts. Good gear is just cheaper than a rescue mission.
