Just lost $200 on a transmission flush that caused more problems

Took my 2010 Honda Accord to a chain shop for a transmission flush at 120k miles. Three days later the tranny started slipping between 2nd and 3rd gear. Found out later those flushes can dislodge built-up sludge and wreck old seals if the fluid wasn't changed regularly. Shop won't refund me or fix it. Anyone else had a flush backfire on an older car?

Yeah that flush probably did more harm than good. Sorry man.

Ha! Nothing like a good old "fix" that makes everything worse. Hope that pipe wasn't important.

But doesn't that transmission already have to be in pretty rough shape inside for a fluid change to break it? If the sludge was holding it together, that sounds like the transmission was already on its last legs anyway. The shop might not be responsible for a pre-existing problem that finally gave out.
