I finally hit 500 harness repairs without a single rework. That milestone taught me more than my cert ever did.

Man, that's a hell of a milestone. I gotta ask though, what was the one thing you kept catching yourself double-checking even after you hit that number? Like was there a specific part of the repair process where your gut still said "hold up" even though your hands already knew the steps? Those little details that stick with you are usually the real teachers.

That bit about "your gut still said hold up even though your hands already knew the steps" really hit home for me. For me it was always the fuel pressure test, even after like 500 of them. What was it about that specific check that made you keep second guessing yourself, like was it a bad gauge, a weird engine, or just pure paranoia?

yeah @ryan793 bringing that up earlier got me thinking. for me it was always the idle air control valve on old hondas. even after a hundred of them i'd still sit there for an extra minute staring at the coolant hoses wondering if i really got all the air out. turns out it was just paranoia from one time i rushed and had to redo the whole job a week later. now i just take that extra breath and trust the process.
