Why does nobody talk about using heat shrink labels on wire bundles?
Been dealing with a mess in the panels on a King Air 90 I've been working on, wires everywhere. Finally tried a thermal label maker with adhesive heat shrink sleeves last week and it made tracing circuits way faster, like 20 minutes saved per bundle. Anyone else switch to these or still stuck with handwritten tags?

Elliot's right, cheap shrink is the real problem here.

Whoa, I gotta push back on this a bit. I tried those heat shrink labels once and they were a pain in the neck. They shrunk too much and distorted the writing so bad I couldn't read the wire numbers. Then I had to cut them off and start over with plain old zip ties and a permanent marker. For me, handwritten tags have been more reliable in the long run, especially in tight spots where the heat gun doesn't fit right.

Sounds like you got a bad batch or cheap stuff tbh. Good shrink labels don't do that if you get the right ratio.
