My neighbor in Phoenix built a shed just for his pool gear and it made me rethink my whole setup.
He showed me his 8x10 foot shed last summer, packed with floats, chemicals, and a pump on a custom rack. He said 'If it's not for the pool, it doesn't belong out here,' and now my messy corner looks bad. What's the one thing you keep in a separate storage spot just to stay organized?

Keep my holiday decorations in a dedicated closet to avoid chaos.

Why stop at just one bin or closet? That's how you end up with a "sort of" organized mess. Pick a whole category, like tools or sports gear, and give it its own shelf or cabinet. The rule has to be total. If it's not that one thing, it can't go on that shelf, period. My garage used to be a nightmare until I did that with car stuff. Now I know exactly where the jumper cables are without digging through holiday lights.

That "not for the pool" rule is smart. I keep all my camping gear in one bin, like @olivia670 with her decorations. It stops the garage from becoming a total disaster.
