Tried a 40-degree blade for my clipper cuts after a barber in Denver suggested it
Figured out that using a 40-degree blade stopped the snagging on thin hair that been driving me nuts for the last two months, has anyone else switched angles and seen a difference?

Totally feel you on that snagging sound, it's like nails on a chalkboard (I get it with my own hair when it gets thin). Switched to a 40 too and the difference was night and day, no more wincing every time I run the clippers over the top.

Oh man, I actually read a piece about this in a barbering magazine someone left at my shop. It talked about how the angle of the blade changes how it lifts the hair before cutting, and a 40 degree is supposedly better for finer strands because it doesn't grab as aggressively. Your mileage may vary, but I switched to a 35 on my own thinning crown and noticed way less pulling. That snagging sound used to drive me up the wall, now it's smooth as butter.
