Tried a new clipper oil last week and my blades locked up mid haircut
I usually stick with Wahl clipper oil but decided to try some generic brand from a beauty supply shop in Austin. Three cuts in, the oil got gummy and my Andis Master started dragging like crazy. Had a kid in the chair with a half finished fade and had to stop everything to clean and re-oil. Learned my lesson the hard way - cheap oil costs you time and trust with clients. Anyone else had a bad run with off-brand lubes?

Happened to me with some Kroger brand oil, was like smearing peanut butter on my clippers.

Gotta stop you right there man, a half finished fade with a kid in the chair? That's a nightmare I can feel in my gut. I can't believe the oil turned gummy that fast, three cuts in is wild. I've had cheap lubricants get sticky before but never that quick, usually takes a couple weeks of buildup to get that bad. Sounds like that stuff was basically glue in a bottle, I'd be mad at myself too for trusting it.

Right but what was the brand though? I mean I feel like that's the key detail here, if nobody names the actual bottle everyone else is just gonna keep buying the same junk. Gotta warn people off whatever that mystery glue was.
