Just realized my $15 oven thermometer is way more accurate than the fancy digital probe I bought for $80

I was skeptical of the cheap analog dial at first but after testing it against three different probes at 225 degrees it was dead on while the expensive one was off by nearly 20 degrees, anyone else had a cheap tool totally outshine a pricey one in your setup?

Honestly the expensive stuff just has to look fancy to sell at that price.

Hold up @ramirez.vera, thats not always the case. A lot of the expensive stuff uses better materials like real leather or thicker stitching that actually lasts longer, not just looks fancier. I've had cheap boots fall apart in a year while my pricier pair is still going strong after five years. It's more about the build quality than the showy design.

Yeah totally agree @mark_chen62. I went through three pairs of cheap sneakers in two years before I finally saved up and got a solid pair of leather boots. The soles on the cheap ones would just peel off after a few months of regular walking. The expensive pair needed a resole once but the leather upper is still in great shape. It's not about looking rich, it's about not having to buy new ones every season. What kind of boots did you get that lasted five years?
