Rant: Visited Franklin BBQ in Austin and had a mixed reaction - anyone else feel this way?

I finally made the trip down to Franklin BBQ in Austin last weekend after hearing about it for years. The brisket was amazing, no doubt, but I waited 3 hours in line and honestly the ribs were just okay for the hype. I get that they set the standard for Texas BBQ, but does the wait really add to the experience or is it just a pride thing? I'm curious if other folks think the endless line is part of the culture or if we're all just putting up with it for the gram.

A three hour wait just for okay ribs? That bums me out too, man.

Franklin BBQ in Austin had a 4 hour wait when I went and those were the best ribs I ever ate. Sometimes the wait is part of the experience, builds up the anticipation. If the ribs were just okay then yeah that sucks, but I've waited longer for worse food and still enjoyed the night with friends. You gotta factor in the whole vibe, not just the meat.

Doesn’t a long wait make the food taste even better when it’s just average though lol?
