Vent: The boardwalk at Ocean City is getting dangerous fast
I was down in Ocean City last weekend and walked the whole boardwalk from 2nd Street to the pier. What got me is how many loose boards and missing nails there are now. I counted 12 spots where the wood is completely rotted through, some of them right near the railing where kids lean. My cousin actually caught her heel in a gap near 9th Street and twisted her ankle bad. The city website says they inspected it in June, but that's a joke. They must have just walked past the worst parts. I'm not one to complain about maintenance stuff, but if a family with a stroller hits one of those holes, someone's gonna get hurt. Has anyone else noticed the boardwalk getting worse this summer?

Honestly I think people just love to complain about everything these days. That boardwalk has way more good wood than bad and they patch it every season. Maybe watch where you're walking instead of staring at your phone.

You know what, isn't it funny how people will zoom right past ten good boards to find one loose nail? I was down there last weekend and saw a lady staring at her phone while her kid was running around. She tripped on a perfectly even plank and started yelling about how dangerous it is. Me and my buddy walk that boardwalk every morning (fishing spot, you know the one) and we've never had a problem. Plus they do patch it up every spring like clockwork. Some folks just need something to gripe about.

Man, sounds like that lady was just looking for something to be mad about that day. Pretty sure the boardwalk's fine, people just need to watch where they're going sometimes.
