I think modern book clubs are getting the 'classic page turner' wrong these days

My club spent 3 meetings arguing if a 2023 thriller counted as a page turner when the term was invented for stuff like The Andromeda Strain (which is 55 years old now). Has anyone else had a club debate over the definition of something this basic?

3 meetings over a definition is rough. Feel your pain. My group spent half a night arguing if audiobooks counted as "reading" and we never settled it.

My buddy had the same debate with his book club and one guy literally said "if I'm driving and I hear it, it's reading" and that somehow shut everyone up. @violag80 audiobooks count, end of story.

@violag80 my friend's club argued if a Kindle counts as a book for 2 hours and nobody budged.
