My Majesty palm lost half its fronds in one week and I still don't know what I did wrong

I bought a Majesty palm from Lowe's about a month ago and it was doing great until last Tuesday when the lower fronds started browning and drooping like crazy. I thought I was watering it right but maybe I'm overdoing it or not giving enough humidity. The soil feels damp but not soggy so I'm stuck. Has anyone else had a palm just fall apart on them for no obvious reason?

Three weeks ago mine did the exact same thing from the same Lowe's. I'd bet @amy_martin is wrong on this one though - most of the time it's just shock from going from the store's perfect greenhouse conditions to your house. Give it more light and stop fussing with the water.

Wait, was yours from the same batch too or just the same store... Did it end up bouncing back or die completely? I had a Majesty palm from Lowe's last summer that looked fine for like two weeks then just gave up, even after I gave it more sun and backed off the watering like you said.

Did you check for spider mites yet? They love these palms and you can't see them until the thing is half dead already, especially if you brought it in from outside.
