Chose a manual edger over a gas one for my lawn routes last spring

I picked up the cheap $35 manual one instead of dropping $300 on a gas trimmer for tight spots. It took me twice as long on the first 5 jobs, but my forearms are basically steel now and I haven't had to mess with a carburetor once. Anyone else ditch power tools for simple stuff and regret it or love it?

Man, I gotta say I don't get the hype. I've used both and the gas one saves me so much time I can't imagine going back. The five minutes of carburetor maintenance once a season is nothing compared to the extra hour or two of manual cranking every single job. My guys would quit if I made them use a hand edger.

Bro $50 says your "five minute carb maintenance" turns into a full Saturday every spring like mine does. I've spent more time elbow deep in that stupid little engine than I did on my entire lawn last month. Plus when it's 90 degrees and humid, I'd rather be pushing a manual edger than breathing in two-stroke fumes and listening to that thing scream. But hey, you do you. I'll just be over here not smelling like a gas station.
